YORK, Pa. -- Salisbury swept the first indoor track & field weekly honors of the 2014-15 season as junior Luke Campbell and senior Dylan Burkett were named the CAC Men's Track & Field Athletes of the Week for Dec. 9, 2014.

Salisbury junior Luke Campbell earned CAC Track Athlete of the Week honors after winning the 60-meter hurdles at the CNU Holiday Open with a time of 8.17 seconds, two seconds faster than the next runner. Campbell also recorded a preliminary time of 8.08 seconds, which ranks second in the nation following the opening weekend of the indoor season. He added a seventh-place finish in the 200-meter dash (22.76 seconds) and helped the Gulls finish second in the 4x400-meter relay in 3:27.87. His 200 time ranks second nationally, while the 4x400 relay time is fourth in the country.

Salisbury senior Dylan Burkett was selected as the CAC Field Athlete of the Week after securing two top-10 finishes for the Sea Gulls at the CNU Holiday Open. Burkett placed fourth in both the shot put and weight throw, with both marks currently ranking in the top-10 of Division III. He began the day with a 51'-9" heave in the shot put, before registering a 52' toss in the weight throw. His shot put mark ranks fourth in the nation, while his weight throw is eighth.

Six CAC teams opened up their indoor seasons last weekend ... Christopher Newport sophomore Zachary Campbell won the mile at the CNU Holiday Open with a time of 4:25 ... Frostburg State notched 10 wins and an additional six runner-up marks at the Marty Pushkin Track Classic at West Virginia University. Junior J.R. Lowery grabbed a pair of wins to set the pace for FSU, easily winning both the shot put (14.19m) and weight throw (14.53m). Senior Devin Francillon registered a total of five top-three finishes, including a pair of wins ... Wesley placed third out of 19 teams at the Ursinus Bow-Tie Classic. Freshmen Urgy Eado won the 500 meters (1:07.48) and Xaire Williams shattered the school-record in the shot put (47'-03.75") by nearly three feet to lead the Wolverines ... York captured sixth place at the Bow Tie Classic. Darnell Tillman placed second in the 400 meters in a school-record time of 51.50. The 4x200 meter relay team of Tillman, Ryan Banta, Sebastian Hall, and Tim Pechart captured first place with a time of 1:34.40 for the Spartans.
