York's Casey Leebrick & Jordan Koller Sweep CAC Golfer of the Week Accolades

FREDERICKSBURG, Va. -- York freshman Casey Leebrick & Jordan Koller swept CAC Golfer of the Week awards for March 18, 2019. This marks the second weekly honor for both individuals this season.

Men's Golfer of the Week

York freshman Casey Leebrick had a fantastic individual performance at the adidas Intercollegiate Invitational at the Dataw Island Club in Dataw Island, South Carolina. Leebrick finished the tournament in a three-way tie for first place and then finished second in the playoff. Leebrick began Monday's first round with a sizzling four-under-par 68. He followed that with a two-over-par 74 on Monday afternoon as he took a two-stroke lead to Tuesday. Leebrick shot another 74 on Tuesday as he finished in a three-way tie with Texas Lutheran's Colin Uecker and Millikin's Michael Barber. Uecker won medalist honors with a birdie on the first play-off hole. Leebrick finished second as he bested Barber on the seconds play-off hole. The second-place finish is his second top five finish and his third top ten in six events for the year.


Women's Golfer of the Week

York freshman Jordan Koller led the Spartans to a second place team finish at the adidas Intercollegiate Invitational on Monday and Tuesday. Koller had a fantastic individual finish as she placed second overall. The Spartan freshman finished second with a two-day total of 155. Koller was two strokes back of Indiana Tech's Kim Siercks, the tournament champion. Koller shot an opening round 80 and made a five-shot improvement on Tuesday with a 75.

SOUTHERN VIRGINIA: Nate Ouimette, Fr., Highland, Utah/Lone Peak HS 


Christopher Newport's Erica Whitehouse, playing in a field littered with nationally-ranked opponents, guided the Captains with a top-ten effort at the Jekyll Island Women's Collegiate. Whitehouse (+18) led the promising effort by the Captains, and wrapped up sitting in 16th place on the individual leaderboard. Whitehouse fired a 234 (76-81-77) in the 54-hole tournament. She ranked 7th in Par 5 scoring and tied for the team lead in birdied with five...Southern Virginia's Nate Ouimette claimed the individual title at the Shenandoah Spring Invitational in St. Cloud, Florida shooting a 146 on two-rounds, shooting in the final round a tournaments best 71...Christopher Newport's Will Snyder tied for 33rd at the Jekyll Island Collegiate Invitational in a field of 150 players. Fired a three-day 220 (+4) with scores of 76-72-72. Snyder had one of the most consistent tournaments in the field, tying for fith in total number of pars with 39 in 54 holes.
