  • Mary Washington's Weisbeck, York's Haberstroh & LoBianco Collect Major Awards on 2018 All-CAC Women's Cross Country Team

    Mary Washington's Jillian Weisbeck and York's Jordan Haberstroh and Stephen LoBianco claimed top awards to headline the 2018 All-CAC Women's Cross Country Team. Team-champion York led the way with five all-conference honorees, followed by Christopher Newport (4), Mary Washington (3), Salisbury (2), and Southern Virginia and St. Mary's with one apiece. 
  • York Collects Third Consecutive CAC Women's Cross Country Championship

    The York women's cross country team secured its third consecutive Capital Athletic Conference Championship on Saturday at Vista Links Golf Course in Buena Vista, Va., paced by four runners in the top-eight finishers. The Spartans totaled 37 points to earn a 13-point victory over second-place Mary Washington (50 points). 
  • 2018 CAC Cross Country Championship Preview

    The 2018 CAC Cross Country Championship meet will be hosted Southern Virginia at Vista Links Golf Course in Buena Vista, Va. on Saturday. Race time for the men's 8k is 11 a.m., followed by the women's 6k at noon. 
  • CAC Players of the Week - Oct. 16

    CAC cross country teams competed in their final tune-ups prior to the CAC Championship, which is set for Oct. 27 at Southern Virginia. The final cross country week honors of 2018 were awarded to Jeff Gibson of Mary Washington men's cross country and Ashley Mazer of Salisbury women's cross country. 
  • CAC Players of the Week - Oct. 9

    Cross country enters its home stretch heading towards the CAC Championships on Oct. 27, while split-season sports golf and tennis are nearing the conclusion of their fall campaigns as we approach mid-October. This week's weekly awards were given to Robert Romano of Frostburg State men's cross country, Logan Funk of Christopher Newport women's cross country, Tyler Newton of York men's golf, Jordan Koller of York women's golf, Paul Monson of Southern Virginia men's tennis, and Allison Paul of Frostburg State women's tennis. 
  • CAC Players of the Week - Oct. 2

    Last week's action featured a bevy of strong cross country performances as well as several CAC men's tennis squads competing at the ITA Regional Championships. Conference honors were awarded to Conner Masteran of Salisbury men's cross country, Ashley Mazer of Salisbury women's cross country, and Matt Miles of Mary Washington men's tennis.

    All fall and split season sports are now underway, with this week's reports featuring the first tennis and women's golf athletes of the week of the fall 2018 season. Weekly honors were awarded to Ray Smith of York men's cross country, Emily Knerr of Mary Washington women's cross country, Casey Leebrick of York men's golf, Erica Whitehouse of Christopher Newport women's golf, Mason Kolls of Christopher Newport men's tennis, and Johanna Ranta-aho of Christopher Newport women's tennis.

    Fall sports are now underway with cross country competing in its first races of the fall this past weekend. Weekly honors were awarded to (pictured, left-to-right) Mike Myers from Southern Virginia men's cross country and Monica Lannen from Christopher Newport women's cross country. 
  • York Picked as Favorite to Three-Peat in CAC Women's Cross Country Preseason Poll

    Two-time defending champion York was picked as the favorite to three-peat in the 2018 Capital Athletic Conference Women's Cross Country Preseason Poll. The Spartans received six first-place votes and totaled 47 points to lead the CAC field of eight cross country teams. 
  • Gentile Named Head Cross Country Coach at St. Mary's
    July 25, 2018
    St. Mary's College of Maryland Associate Director for Internal Operations Jim Cranmer announced Monday the hiring of Michael Gentile as the next head coach of the St. Mary's men's and women's cross country programs. Gentile, who will also serve as the assistant director for the Michael P. O'Brien Athletics & Recreation Center (MPOBARC), will begin his duties on Monday, August 6.
