FREDERICKSBURG, Va. -- Mary Washington sophomore Rachel Summers was tabbed as the CAC Women's Tennis Player of the Week for March 13, 2018.

Mary Washington sophomore Rachel Summers was tabbed as the CAC Player of the Week for the second time in 2017-18 after registering a perfect 3-0 record in singles and doubles last week as the 16th-ranked Eagles won three-straight matches in California. At No. 2 singles, Summers defeated Julia Reisler of Caltech 6-4, 6-0, Elizabeth Johnson of Redlands 6-2, 6-2, and Madison Ross of Chapman 6-2, 7-5. She also teamed with Caroline Mosberg for 8-1, 8-1, and 8-2 wins at No. 2 doubles.

In the ITA National Team Rankings, Mary Washington is ranked No. 16 and Christopher Newport is ranked No. 27 ... CNU's Johanna Ranta-aho was 3-0 in both singles and doubles last week as she led CNU to a perfect 3-0 trip to California with wins over Caltech, Chapman, and No. 34 Redlands ... Salisbury's Jordan Schaefer went 3-1 last week, winning twice in Salisbury's victory at Franklin & Marshall and picking up a singles win in the team's match at Haverford ... Southern Virginia's Rachel Christensen went 2-0 at both No. 1 doubles and No. 2 singles. She did not drop a set in singles, posting 6-0, 6-2 and 6-2, 6-2 victories.
