Mary Washington Sophomore Claire Haeuptle Named CAC Women's Basketball Player Of The Week
Mary Washington sophomore guard CLAIRE HAEUPTLE (Robbinsville, N.J./Peddie School) was selected as the CAC Women’s Basketball Player of the Week for Feb. 18, 2013 after her strong play off the bench last week, leading UMW in scoring in both wins that secured the second seed in the 2013 conference playoffs for the defending champions. Haeuptle dropped in 22 points on 71% shooting from the field (5-for-7), including a pair of long-range bombs, and 10 free throws to help UMW stop York. She added a team-best 16 points, including four threes, in Saturdays win over St. Mary’s.
Frostburg State Senior Christian Jackson Named CAC Men's Basketball Player Of The Week
Frostburg State senior guard CHRISTIAN JACKSON (Forestville, Md./Suitland) was selected as the CAC Men’s Basketball Player of the Week for Feb. 18, 2013 after lifting his team into the fifth seed for the CAC playoffs by averaging 23.5 points, 7.5 rebounds and shooting 56% from the field in a pair of conference victories. Jackson scored 17 points in a midweek game against Marymount that clinched a playoff berth, then added 30 points, hitting 9-for-13 (including 4-for-6 from three point range) in a season-ending game at York.
Salisbury's Carley Todd Picked For CAC Volleyball Player Of The Week Award
Salisbury senior setter CARLEY TODD (Greenlawn, N.Y./Harborfields) was named the CAC Volleyball Player of the Week for Oct. 29, 2012 after leading the 17th-ranked Gulls to a 4-1 week, including a regular-season championship victory over second-place Marymount that clinched the top seed in the 2012 CAC Tournament. Todd contributed 161 assists, 44 kills, a .367 hitting percentage, 41 digs and 10 blocks in the five matches and earned a berth on the CNU Invitational All-Tournament Team.

It was Hartung’s second individual win of the season and helped the Spartans finish fourth in the team standings.

Wesley senior ROBERT EHRHARDT (Mechanicsville, Md./Chopticon) was selected as the CAC Golfer of the Week for the third-straight week, and the fourth time this year, after winning medalist honors at the Glenn Heath Shipbuilders Memorial with a CAC-record two-day score of two-under-par 140. Ehrhardt carded a four-under 67 on the second day of the tournament, which ties for the second-best round in CAC history.
Mary Washington Senior Andrew Garofolo Named CAC Men's Swimmer Of The Week
Mary Washington senior ANDREW GAROFOLO (Richmond, Va./James River) was named the CAC Men’s Swimming Athlete of the Week after leading the Eagles to wins over Frostburg State and Marymount. Garofolo won the 200 freestyle (2:03.38) and 400 freestyle (4:24.62) and was a member of the gold medal 200 freestyle relay (1:42.40).

Mary Washington freshman ABBY COX (Alexandria, Va./Alexandria) was named the CAC Women’s Swimmer of the Week after winning three events in Saturday’s tri-meet against Marymount at Frostburg State. Cox swept top individual honors in the 200 IM (2:32.92) and 100 freestyle (1:02.14) and contributed to the gold medal 200 freestyle relay (1:56.78).

Mary Washington sophomore TYLER CAREY (Moseley, Va./Cosby) was named the CAC Men’s Tennis Athlete of the Week after leading the 25th-ranked Eagles to a come-from-behind victory over 26th-ranked Swarthmore. Carey and two teammates dropped the first sets of their singles matches before rallying for victories, giving UMW a 5-4 team triumph. Carey’s singles score was 2-6, 7-5 and 7-5 to clinch the win.

Capital Athletic Conference Player of the Year Kevin Kean grabbed first team all-region honors, while Dylan Shupe was named to the second team and J.K. Filauro was placed on the team third team.

University of Mary Washington sophomore Lindsay Raulston gained All-America honors in singles as announced by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association on Wednesday. Raulston becomes UMW's first singles All-American since Becky Morse-Karzen in 2009.

LYNCHBURG, VA – Catherine Kennedy, a midfielder from the University of Mary Washington, was voted the 2012 All-State College Division Women's Lacrosse Player of the Year, as voted on by the Virginia Sports Information Directors (VaSID).  Kennedy's coach, Dana Hall, was named the All-State Coach of the Year and Darragh Evarts from Roanoke College earned Rookie of the Year honors.
