Record-Breaking Forward Stephanie Eyler Named CAC Women's Soccer Player Of The Week

Stevenson freshman forward STEPHANIE EYLER (Thurmont, Md./Catoctin) was named the CAC Women's Soccer Co-Players of the Week after breaking the CAC record for goals in a season. Her six goals last week in wins over Marymount and Gallaudet raised her season total to 21 scores, topping the previous CAC mark of 20 goals in a season set by Goucher's Sarah Weaver in 1997 and equaled by Salisbury's Kate Weaver in 2006. With two regular-season games remaining and at least one CAC playoff game, Eyler needs one point to tie Sarah Weaver's CAC record of 48 points in a season.

The 2008 season shapes up as another great chase for the CAC championship and NCAA Tournament automatic bid. Eight of the nine conference teams won at least six matches in 2007 and could win on any given day.
