Caitlin Lake Salisbury Softball Senior Salisbury senior Caitlin Lake received CAC Player of the Week honors after batting .700 with three extra-base hits last week for the Sea Gulls. Lake went 7-for-10 at the plate and reached base at a .750 clip while posting a slugging percentage of 1.400. Three of her seven hits went for extra bases with a pair of triples and a home run, her third of the year. She knocked in three runs and scored five times on the week for the Sea Gulls. Read More

Allison Short Frostburg State Softball Junior Frostburg State junior Allison Short was named the CAC Pitcher of the Week after going 3-1 with a 1.30 ERA in four appearances last week. Short nearly tossed a pair of no-hitters, allowing just one hit in a win over Bridgewater (Va.) and surrendering two hits in a win over York. In between those two victories, she allowed three hits in a complete-game victory at Catholic. For the week, she totaled 14 strikeouts while allowing five earned runs and 17 hits in 27.0 innings of work. She did not walk a batter in any of her four appearances. Read More

Megan Stapley Southern Virginia Softball Freshman Southern Virginia freshman Megan Stapley earned CAC Player of the Week honors after leading the Knights to a 4-0 week with a .667 batting average (10-for-15) with 10 RBIs and six runs scored. Stapley notched four extra-base hits including two doubles, a triple, and a home run, totaling a 1.133 slugging percentage. Her top performance of the week came in game one against Trinity (D.C.), as she hit for the cycle with six RBIs and four runs scored. She managed at least two hits in each contest and also swiped a pair of bases for the week. Read More

LeAnne Collins Salisbury Softball Junior Salisbury junior LeAnne Collins received CAC Player of the Week honors after hitting .636 in six games last week, notching 14 hits including seven extra-base knocks. Batting from the leadoff spot, she registered at least one hit in all six contests and totaled 10 RBIs and 10 runs scored in a 4-2 week for the Sea Gulls. Collins posted four triples, one home run, and one double on her way to a 1.227 slugging percentage. On Sunday, she hit for the cycle in a 9-2 win against SUNY New Paltz, with the home run being an in-the-park homer for her round-tripper of the season. Read More

Lindsay Siok Wesley Softball Senior Wesley senior Lindsay Siok received CAC Pitcher of the Week honors after going 3-1 with a 1.17 ERA during the Wolverines spring break trip. Siok totaled 24.0 innings in her four outings, surrending just four earned runs and walking two while recording 15 strikeouts. Her top performance was a complete-game shutout of Ursinus with six strikeouts. Siok is tied for the CAC lead in wins (6), second in strikeouts (31) and tied for the fifth-lowest ERA (1.50). Melissa Jurkiewicz York Softball Junior York junior Melissa Jurkiewicz earned CAC Pitcher of the Week honors after going 4-1 last week with a 0.58 ERA in 24.1 innings during the Spartans spring break trip to Clermont, Fla. Jurkiewicz totaled 20 strikeouts and did not walk a batter, scattering 14 hits throughout her five appearances. She began the week with five scoreless innings in a 9-0 win over Adrian on Tuesday, allowing two hits and striking out four. She came in relief in the 5-1 win over Rose-Hulman in Tuesday's second game, tossing six perfect innings with six strikeouts. Jurkiewicz allowed three runs, two earned, in the Spartans' 3-2 loss against MSOE as she scattered six hits with one strikeout. She bounced back with four shutout innings with five strikeouts in the win over Northwestern (Minn.). She then completed the trip with 4.1 innings of two-hit softball in the win over Nebraska Wesleyan, striking out four in the win. Read More

Joanna Marmo York Softball Sophomore York sophomore Joanna Marmo secured CAC Player of the Week honors after hitting .550 (11-for-20) and leading the Spartans to seven wins in eight games during the second half of their spring break trip to Clermont, Fla. She totaled five RBIs, seven runs scored, and five doubles for the week, while posting a .571 on-base percentage and .800 slugging percentage. Her top performances came against Finlandia and Northwestern (Minn.). Against Finlandia she went 3-for-4 with two doubles, a run scored and an RBI. Aubrey Bates Christopher Newport Softball Freshman Christopher Newport freshman Aubrey Bates was tabbed as the CAC Pitcher of the Week after picking up two wins and a save to begin her career at CNU. Bates has pitched 16.0 innings in three appearances, including two starts. Her 0.88 ERA has helped lead the Captains to a 7-1 start to the season. She has struck out 11 and walked four while allowing just two earned runs and 11 hits. Read More

Ashley Royer Wesley Softball Sophomore Wesley sophomore Ashley Royer was named the CAC Player of the Week after leading the Wolverines to a pair of doubleheader sweeps over the weekend. Royer hit .736 (10-for-13) with a home run, 13 RBIs, three doubles, and two triples in sweeps over Lincoln (Pa.) and Swarthmore. She registered at least one hit and one RBI in all four games, and posted a slugging percentage of 1.538. Royer leads the CAC in batting average, slugging percentage and triples. Read More
