Mary Washington's Dallas Tarkenton Places Fourth in 100 Fly at NCAA Championships, Earns All-America Status

Mary Washington senior Dallas Tarkenton finished in fourth place in the 100 yard butterfly on day two of the NCAA Swimming Championships Thursday night in Shenandoah, Texas.

Tarkenton raced to a school and conference record time of 48.06 in the 100 fly, besting his morning prelim time by .26. Tarkenton, seeded fourth entering the championships, broke his own conference record in the event of 48.55 that he set in 2016. He will wrap up his championship meet on Friday in the 200 fly. 

On the women's side, UMW senior Anna Corley placed 26th in the 400 IM with a time of 4:33.07. Corley, who gained All-America honors in the 200 IM on Wednesday, will swim in the 100 yard freestyle on Saturday, the final day of the Championships.
