Carvell Akuffo Frostburg State Men's Soccer Sophomore Frostburg State sophomore Carvell Akuffo was selected as the CAC Offensive Player of the Week after notching a goal and an assist in the Bobcats' 3-2 win over Penn State Harrisburg in the first round of the CAC Tournament. Akuffo started the scoring less than a minute into regulation to give Frostburg State an early 1-0 edge, and later assisted on the eventual game-winner from Mukor Harris in the 79th minute. Read More

Sammy Blosser Christopher Newport Men's Soccer Senior Christopher Newport senior Sammy Blosser was selected as the CAC Defensive Player of the Week after helping the Captains clinch the top seed in the CAC Tournament with a 2-1 victory over Marymount in the regular season finale. Blosser and the CNU defense held the Saints to just two total shots and one shot on goal. Blosser also assisted on the game-tying goal, and made a key defensive play that led to Patrick Burns' game-winning score. Read More

Jacob Burke Mary Washington Men's Soccer Senior Mary Washington senior Jacob Burke was named the CAC Offensive Player of the Week after totaling five goals on just six shots in a 2-0 week, helping the Eagles lock up a top two seed in the CAC Tournament. Burke scored both goals, including the game-winner in double overtime, in a 2-1 win over St. Mary's, and followed that up with a hat trick in a 5-1 win over Wesley. Ryan Ockford York Men's Soccer Junior York junior Ryan Ockford was tabbed as the CAC Defensive Player of the Week after helping the Spartans' defense hold its opponents to just six shots on goal and one score in a 2-0 week. Ockford led the York defense to a clean sheet in a 4-0 win over Wesley on Wednesday, limiting the Wolverines to 11 total shots and five on goal. In Saturday's win over Salisbury, Ockford and the Spartan defense held the Sea Gulls to just five shots and one shot on goal. Nick Carrington Salisbury Men's Soccer Junior Salisbury junior Nick Carrington was named the CAC Defensive Player of the Week after anchoring a backline that allowed just six shots on target without conceding a goal in a 2-0 week for the Sea Gulls. Carrington and the Sea Gull defense limited Marymount and Frostburg State to just three shots on goal each in a pair of key shutout wins. Khalid Balogun St. Mary's Men's Soccer Freshman St. Mary's freshman Khalid Balogun received CAC Offensive Player of the Week honors after totaling eight points in a 1-0-1 week for the Seahawks. Balogun scored both goals in the 2-2 draw at No. 22 Christopher Newport, with both as game-tying scores after the Seahawks fell behind twice. He then had a hand in three of the four goals in the 4-0 shutout win at Wesley. Balogun netted the game-winning goal before assisting on the next two. He is second on the team in scoring with 15 points (6 goals, 3 assists). Read More
