She and the Spartans will open up the CAC Tournament with a home matchup against St. Mary’s in Sunday’s first round. INTRODUCING … Alexa Taylor.

Briefly, what is your background in the sport you play?

I am a defender. My entire family has played or is currently playing field hockey so I began at a very young age and just fell in love with the sport.

What is your major in college, and what is the most important thing you learned in that discipline?

Psychology; we are all human and we make mistakes (and the brain is pretty cool)

What is your favorite spot on campus?

Wherever I can get food is my favorite place!

Outside of your home and campus, where is your favorite place visit?

The beach because I love the ocean and it’s just a relaxing time for everyone.

Other than your team, what organization (s) do you participate in (on campus or off campus)?

For the past three summers I have helped coach a 10-and-under travel baseball team; I am trying to become more actively involved with the Windsor Area Rec field hockey program.

Briefly describe the most memorable experience during your collegiate athletic career.

Scoring in the same game as my sister, Paige. It was a good night for the Taylor family!

Other than your family members, who was the most influential person in your life?

Since I can’t put my mom or my family I’m picking someone who is very similar to them; Leanne Good. She shares the same values and morals and reminds me so much of my mom.

What is the most important societal issue facing college students?

Debt; tuition continues to go up!

If you could change any one item in the world (in your personal life, school, community, amateur or professional sports, national/international issue, etc.), what would it be, why, and how would you do it?

If I could change one thing in the world it would have to deal with the school system. I think nowadays elementary school kids are not allowed to be kids anymore; they face homework that takes away from time that they could spend by being with family or being active. I also think standardized testing is becoming way too important.

What is your favorite form of entertainment?

A good football or baseball game. I come from a very athletic family and all sitting together and watching a game is the best form of entertainment.

If you could give one piece of advice to elementary school children, what would that advice be?

I have a 10-year-old brother and I always tell him to not be so hard on himself; my advice is worry less and be the best you can be.

Outside of the CAC, who or what is your favorite sports person or team?

I am a Steelers fan and I would have to say Antonio Brown is my favorite player because I think he is a hard worker and is very dedicated. I believe he keeps it fun and is always exciting to watch!

Name three (3) people, real or fictional, living or dead, that you'd like to have dinner with?

Jessie James Decker- I love her sense of style and she seems very down to earth!

My great-grandma- If I could just see her one last time and share a bowl of soup together that would be amazing. She also inspired my love for pearls!

Kathie Lee and Hoda- I watch their show in the morning and I think they are just so funny. It’s a good start to my day
